Mozambique Vamos Ler!
USAID 2016-present
The USAID-funded Mozambique Vamos Ler! (Let’s Read!) program is designed to develop bilingual education pedagogical tools and activities, improve national early grade literacy policies and delivery and monitoring systems, enhance school leadership and increase parental and community engagement in early grade literacy. The five-year project is building the government’s ability to create policies, tools, and approaches to early grade literacy that are flexible, results oriented, and affordable. OSC is leading the design and implementation of an evidence-based behavior change communications strategy to engage parents, community members, as well as education authorities and school personnel to support early grade reading in the local languages. OSC is also working with CSOs, schools and communities to strengthen community engagement and social accountability around reading, in the classroom and in the home.
