Health Communications Specialists
OSC is seeking Health Communications Specialists for short- and long-term assignments on projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
Health Communications Specialists must have:
- 7+ years of experience designing and implementing comprehensive, research-driven communications campaigns for promoting health
- 5+ years of experience in building government outreach capacity at the community, provincial, and national level
- Strong record in designing and leading behavior change communications (BCC) activities
- Professional experience in creating public outreach and youth health education campaigns related to malaria, HIV/AIDS, STDs, or reproductive health.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Local language ability preferred

Behavior Change Communications Specialist
Long-Term Local Professional Staff in Burundi
OSC is seeking a long-term Communications Specialist in Burundi. The specialist must be a Burundi national and have at least five years experience in developing and implementing research-based strategic communications strategies. The experience must include:
- Designing, implementing, and monitoring behavior change communications, public education, and community mobilization campaigns to promote public and private sector health services and healthy behaviors at the community level. Campaigns cover topics such as family planning and reproductive health, malaria, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, nutrition, MNCH, WASH, and HIV/AIDS
- Assessing and building local capacity for behavior change communications and information, education, and communication
- Designing knowledge, attitudes, and practices surveys to establish and monitor the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of target audiences
- Identifying and evaluating local partner organizations
- Conducting campaign research and testing messages
- Developing creative strategies to reach women and encourage their participation in program activities
- Monitoring campaign quality and effectiveness
- Writing detailed progress reports

Community Linkages Officer
Long-Term Local Professional Staff in Zambia
OSC, in coordination with its partner PATH, for the Zambia Nutrition, Assessment, Counseling, and Support (ZAMNACS) Project, seeks suitable candidates to fill the position of Community Linkages Officer. Candidates must possess the skills and capacity to:
- Conduct mapping of target populations, key opinion leaders and stakeholders including CBOs, NGOs, FBOs, and strategic (USAID) partners for BCC/IPC entry points and strategic partnerships.
- Assist in developing a BCC strategy to promote nutrition and HIV health services and products.
- Identify and recruit existing CBOs (health/nutrition providers and wrap-around service providers).
- Build the capacity of CBOs to identify nutritionally vulnerable households and individuals, link them to available services, provide counseling and support on improved behaviors, and provide HEPS.
- Conduct regular training and mentoring of CBOs in participatory communication techniques.
- Coordinate and supervise the implementation of BCC campaigns by CBOs and assist with monitoring program activities.
